Syria will witness four-party summit grouping top leaders of Turkey, Syria, France and Qatar to be held in the Syrian capital on Thursday.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy set to visit Syria on 3-4 September.
Sarkozy has shown willingess to play a role in Medeast peace but failed to bring Assad and Olmert together at the Mediterranean Union summit.
Assad had appointed Lamia Shakkour as ambassador to France filling a post vacant for 18 months.
The leaders will discuss the situation in Lebanon and the Middle East peace process, the Saudi-owned daily Ash-Sharq al-Awsat reported Sunday.
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, are to join Sarkozy and Bashar al-Assad Assad at their talks, according to the report.
Turkey has mediated recent Syria-Israel talks.
The summit would discuss the Lebanon situation, the Turkey-mediated Syrian-Israeli talks, the Palestinian-Israeli talks and other regional topics, the report added.
Qatar has mediated a conciliation accord among the Lebanese factions that followed street fighting.
Sarkozy is holding the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU), Assad holding the current president of Arab League and Amir Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani of Qatar, holding the presidency of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
Meanwhile, Erdogan spoke with his Lebanese counterpart Fuad Siniora on the phone on Monday.
Siniora called Erdogan on the phone, and the two prime ministers exchanged views about Lebanon's relations with its neighbors as well as stability and peace in the region prior to the quartet meeting that will take place in Syria.
